Supporting Organizations
Local community organizations provide vital support to the idea and the work of Open Arms for Refugees. These Supporting Organizations make a commitment to help get the word out about what is needed and what is happening, and to invite their members and the appropriate arms/committees of their organizations to consider financial support and/or the provision of key services.
Our Supporting Organizations help us express to federally-sponsored refugees that they are welcome and wanted in our community. Access to the talents and resources of these organizations in turn enables us to assist our new neighbors more effectively on their journey to self sufficiency and financial independence, rebuilding a new life and a new home in a new and different community.
Our network of Supporting Organizations does not just bring resources to Open Arms for Refugees, but also helps us address the specific needs of our new neighbors – whether for a table and chairs, an ESL tutor, a Chromebook, pediatric dentistry, a job opening, or a new apartment nearer the commuter bus, say, to White Plains. Through their community bulletins and email lists, these organizations help us deliver the right assistance at the right time.

Open Arms for Refugees is a Community Sponsorship organization, bringing together neighbors, houses of worship, community organizations and key service providers in Ossining, Cold Spring and surrounding towns, with the shared mission of welcoming and integrating federally-sponsored refugees into our communities.
